3rd Annual KCTT Tomato Tasting

It was a hot and steamy afternoon, yet some sixty gardeners and tomato hounds huddled together to sample the bounty of the season. In their third year as the reigning king and queen of Kansas City gardening, James Worley and his wife  Jennifer Nugent certainly know how to throw a bash. With more than 50 varieties to sample, the event was a huge success.

One highlight of the festival was a, warm from the oven, green tomato pie. Tasting much like an apple pie, but far more complex in flavor, all who tried it were amazed.

If you missed this year’s bash, put it on your calendar for next year. James hosts the festival the first Saturday in August. Trust us, it is worth postponing your vacation to attend!
