Mortgage Lifter

Our first mortgage lifter.

Our first mortgage lifter.

This tomato variety was developed in the early 1930’s by a radiator repairman, M.C. “Radiator Charlie” Byles in Logan, West Virginia. According to internet sources, Mr. Byles crossed four types of tomatoes to create a plant that produces sandwich-ready fruit. He then sold seedlings to customers for the low-low price of $1, and paid off his $6,000 mortgage in only six years.

I’m thinking of crossing ten varieties of tomatoes, and selling the seedlings for $2. I’ll let you know when my genetically engineered plants are ready. We can’t let Monsanto have all the fun!

While I’m playing mad tomato scientist, maybe Farmer J will open a stand at a Farmer’s market and start selling these awesome tomatoes! Our first one was incredible. Farmer J says “It just tastes like summer.”

    Monsanto Sucks!

When you get that 10 variety hybrid ready, I’ll be more than happy to grow out a few hundred of them for you in the greenhouse!
