We enjoy the cooler temps we are having this May. However, Farmer J & T can’t help but look forward to August, when we’ll be knee-deep in tomatoes and cursing the heat and mosquitoes. August will also be the month when some of the Kansas City area tomato fanatics will gather for the Second Annual Tomato Tasting. Last year nearly 40 different varieties were available to sample. Something tells me that number will be eclipsed this year. This is simply THE best way to experience dozens and dozens of heirloom tomatoes and to interact with some truly dedicated tomato gardeners. Don’t miss this event.
WHEN: August 7, 2010
WHERE: Roe Park in Overland Park, at 104th & Roe
Scenes from last year’s event below. I’m salivating.
My jaw hurts from just thinking about all of that flavor!
This year’s event will be awesome. We’ll get the word out and wind up making the news, I’m sure!
I just heard this joke today on the BBC.
What’s red and invisible? No tomatoes. ^_^
That is not funny at all. No tomatoes would be sad. Very sad.
It’s on the calendar! Thanks for the notice!
