Varieties, The Count

Polychromatic

If we have learned anything from gardening, we’ve learned that tomato goodness comes in many colors, shapes and sizes.

This week we’ve seen a serious uptick in our tomato harvest with many varieties producing ripe fruit just in time to be counted in the July harvest.

Our harvest total: 549. Total this week: 404

The largest producer of the week is a mystery plant that we believe is Sungold Select.  Whatever the variety, like all cherry tomatoes, it is prolific. Producing 81 tomatoes, it outshone all other varieties with Violet Jasper trailing behind at  65 tomatoes. From our larger varieties, the pink hearted Cuor Di Bue is becoming a fast favorite. Producing twelve large, heart-shaped lovelies this week, it is a variety that convinces us that quality can transcend quantity.
