Dear readers, there has not much to write about. We’ve been greatly disappointed with the harvest this month. The extraordinarily high temperatures of late July and early August slowed tomato production to a dribble.
An informal survey of other gardeners reveals that we are not the only tomato growers in the region upset by this turn of events. While this mollifies us, somewhat, we miss our tomatoes.
We combined three weeks into this count. It’s a sad, sad time in TomatoTown, but new blooms on plants we almost gave up on … gives us hope for some BLTs in late September. Weather permitting.
Arrrrr! It’s been a scorcher of a summer…one of these years we’ll get another perfect growing season..maybe!
Ahoy there! The beauties are coming back, matie!
