We have been hit hard by bugs over the past two weeks. Farmer J and I have launched dozens of ruined tomatoes into the woods at the edge of our property. Several people have suggested we spray, but we are against using chemicals. So, the research begins into organic bug control for next year’s crop. We’ll let nature take its course for the rest of this growing season, which given the colder weather, feels like it’s about over. It’s August 30th and we are wearing fleece jackets in the morning. This feels more like a morning in Colorado than Kansas. I love it, but the tomatoes don’t.
